This is a blog written from a dog's point of view. JR was mistreated and abused by his previous owners and was blind and crippled at only 6 months old. This is his story from the day he leaves the pound to live with his new family thru his recovery.
Tonight I got to listen to a story about me. It was a great story. Thanks Ryan. http://www.kpax.com/news/a-dogs-life-missoula-family-has-home-for-disabled-pet/ Here is the video: http://colemanscoverage.blogspot.com/2010/02/this-dogs-life_21.html
JR you are amazing and so are your humans. I loved your story on the news tonight. I am a dog too and I have a blog here also. I was paralyzed for 6 months and my now mommy came all the way to New Orleans to save me from being killed. I live in Kalispell now and my mommy helped me to heal and walk again. I am also deaf and partially blind, but I am very happy in my new loving home. Your new freind and admirer, Mira Bella

Hi JR, Winter here... I was a shelter dog myself, but I'm not blind. I DID have a rough life, though; I didn't even know how to wag my tail when my humans took me home--they had to teach me what it meant to have fun. Anyhow, I have a suggestion for your people. Tell them to get you an Orbee ball (I'm on my 3rd one, the most recent one came from Neff's). These great balls are infused with a minty flavor, and if you have a great sniffer (like I do), you can actually smell it even when you can't see it. That will make ball-chasing a lot more fun. My humans even use the Orbee to play hide & seek with me when we can't go outside-- they hide the ball and I sniff it out.
You're a lucky dog, JR--have a great life! Love, Winter
